We’re proud to have run Southampton’s first canine first aid class, with our sell-out classes taking place every month since 2014. Each class is 3.5 hours long and provides accredited CPD training, giving you the opportunity to gain a Level 2 (VTQ) Canine First Aid certification.
The classes are run by Charlotte, an experienced ex-veterinary nurse with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in animal care. Charlotte makes every class fun, relaxed and enjoyable while ensuring you leave with the knowledge and practical skills you need. Our regular in-person CPD accredited Pet First Aid Training classes are held at Woolston Community Centre, SO19 9FU on the following dates from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm:

Level 2 (VTQ) is the entry-level Canine First Aid qualification.
This is a great class for beginners and pet professionals alike, covering everything you need to know in a Canine First Aid emergency.
Our classes provide 3.5 hours of accredited CPD, 2 types of digital certificates, an online first aid pet manual, downloadable pet first aid materials, and a handy leaflet pack filled with useful information on how to keep your pets safe, plus unlimited tea, coffee & biscuits!

Classes are priced at £60 per person. This is non refundable but may be able to transfer to another date with enough notice.
Once you tell us what date you wish to attend, we will send an invoice. After the invoice is paid, your space will be secured.
What You Will Learn
Our hands-on pet first aid classes are designed to give you practical experience, essential skills and the confidence to know what to do if your dog faces an emergency. Rather than simply sitting and listening, you’ll get hands-on throughout the course and practise real pet first aid techniques using our specialist training equipment and models.
You’ll practise what to do if your dog or a dog in your care is choking using our choke vest dog, giving you the opportunity to learn the correct technique in a safe and controlled environment. You’ll also learn and practise bandaging techniques, how to perform CPR on CasPeR, and how to locate and feel a dog’s pulse so you know what to check for in an emergency.
Our dog first aid training also covers a range of common and potentially life-threatening emergencies, including choking, shock, snake bites, wounds, bleeding, breathing difficulties and other emergency situations. By physically practising the skills rather than just learning the theory, you’ll have the opportunity to build muscle memory and confidence, helping you feel more prepared to act quickly should a dog or cat ever need first aid.
Our aim is to make pet first aid training practical, informative and enjoyable, giving everyone the knowledge, hands-on experience and confidence they need to help in an emergency.
